10 Things to Do after Buying your Wedding Dress

Here are 10 things to consider taking care of after you've found your perfect wedding dress...

1. Select your Shoes - The shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day are a must have for the first fitting, as the height of the heel will completely determine the hem length of your gown. Wear them around the house so you avoid any discomfort on your wedding day.

2. Order Your Bridesmaid Dresses - Now that you know the style of your dress you can start researching bridesmaid dresses, colors etc. that will flatter your dress and pull the look together.

3. Wedding Jewelry - Start thinking about the accent pieces that will accentuate your look on your special day. Remember to bring the pieces with you when you go for a fitting.

4. Undergarments - Start hunting for the perfect undergarments whether it be Spanks or pretty lace panties. Try to combine comfort and looks, you have to wear them all day. I personally recommend a dual set just in case you want to freshen up in the evening.

5. Something Blue - There are lots of ways to incorporate blue into the day. Blue ribbon inside your dress, accessorize with a blue gemstone in your shoes, jewelry, purse, hanky etc.

6. Start Eating Healthy - Most of us, want to lose weight before the big day. Eating healthy is better than dieting.

7. Start thinking about Hair and Makeup - Select a stylist and choose a couple of different styles - remember to take photos so you can reference at a later date when you make your final choice.

8. Pick a Hiding Spot - Once your fittings are done and your gown is ready for the aisle, you'll need a place to store it where your groom can't sneak a peek. We offer a wedding dress storage for your gown with a small fee. We also offer a cleaning service for our brides' gowns after the special day. Gowns can be either be cleaned and hung or cleaned and boxed. We use beautiful boxes which are acid free, ensuring that your gown is safe for life long storage. Whatever you need we will always do our very best to help you, every step of the way.

9. Select your Wedding Rings - Your wedding day attire is complete once you have chosen your new wedding ring. Make sure you've chosen and ordered both rings with plenty of time to spare. We suggest having rings at least two months before the wedding.

10. Have a good Seamstress - If your bridal boutique doesn't offer alterations, you'll need to find a seamstress. Since wedding dresses are a specialty make sure you ask if they have experience in this field. If your dress is silk you want to make sure they have worked with fine fabrics. Don't wait until your gown arrives to start this search and make sure they have worked with fine fabrics.

We have professional, qualified seamstresses that work on the premises. Our seamstresses can make jackets, add sleeves, remove sleeves, add straps, reduce trains, insert lace up backs, and add extra detail. We are pleased to be able to offer this fitting service to Brides, Bridesmaids, Prom Dresses, Mother of the Bride who have purchased their gowns, dresses, outfits from another establishment. Our expert dressmakers will fit you in our Fitting Rooms, subject to a pre - arranged appointment, ensuring your outfit is perfect for your big day.
