If you require a bespoke design, along with your own ideas plus our experience, we can craft the dress of your dreams. We are able to offer tailor matching or complementary designs for bridesmaids and flower girls too. We can also help with personalized wedding veils, boleros or belts.
Consultation
Consultations with our seamstress are complimentary for all for all Sophie Grace Brides. We charge a £40.00 consultation fee for those who have bought their dress elsewhere, but wish to take advantage of our excellent dressmaking service. This fee is taken in advance of your appointment and is refunded in the event you proceed with our service.
Bespoke Wedding Dress
We begin with the inspiration. That might be a photo you bring us; a dress you saw in a magazine or a gown from your favourite movie. It may just be the words you would use to describe your dream dress – romantic, elegant, modern, sophisticated, smart – or perhaps you might ask us what we think would flatter you most. To ensure your bespoke dress is fitted to perfection we will take many individual body measurements, create a calico/toile (mock up of the garment in appropriate weight cotton or crepe), and prepare your own personal couture pattern which will be cut precisely to make sure that all proportions are correct and the garment is cut to flatter your body perfectly. Some garments require two calico/toile fittings depending on the complexity. It will be fitted to you precisely, and we won’t be completely happy with the results until you are.
